Cypress, TEXAS — VLK Architects has been awarded work for the design of a new elementary school in Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. This school, located in the Bridgeland Community in Cypress, Texas, will be the 53rd elementary school for the District.

Bridgeland is one of northwest Houston’s premier communities, having been named the nation’s No. 1 master-planned community by the National Association of Home Builders.

The Bridgeland Elementary School will be a new prototype school for the District. Designed to meet the requirements of The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS), the school will have a design capacity of 1,120 students and will feature a two-story design.

VLK Architects has successfully provided architecture services to Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District since 2006. “VLK is excited to have been awarded this very significant project,” states VLK Principal Steve Aloway. “We are extremely pleased to continue our relationship with Cy-Fair ISD and help the District in meeting its growth needs in this prominent development within the District.”

The School is planned to open in the fall of 2013.
