The Villebois community is a transit-oriented, mixed-use neighborhood unlike any other in the greater Portland, Ore. metropolitan area. In its commitment to the environment, Costa Pacific built a rainwater management plan in Villebois, funded in part by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This system filters and redistributes rainwater back into the ground, reducing the amount of pollutants released into the area’s streams and rivers. The rainwater management system also incorporates permeable paving stones, permeable asphalt, retention ponds, rooftop gardens and state-of-the-art bio-retention cells in the community planter beds. The company was also careful to preserve existing trees and open as well as incorporate native plants into the landscaping within Villebois, further validating its emphasis on environmental consciousness. For more information about Villebois, please visit: ChangeHowYouLive.com |
